Compare the2026 Porsche 911VS 2025 Lexus RC F

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The 911 (except Manual/GT3) offers an optional Maneuvering Assist that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The RC F doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

The 911 offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The RC F doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the 911 helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The RC F doesn’t offer a night vision system.

The 911 offers an optional Surround View to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The RC F only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the 911 and RC F offer rear cross-traffic warning, but the 911 with Rear Cross Traffic Alert also has Rear Cross Traffic Alert (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The RC F’s Rear Cross-Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the 911 and the RC F have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, driver alert monitors, available crash mitigating brakes and blind spot warning systems.

The 911’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the RC F’s (12 vs. 6 years).

J.D. Power and Associates rated the 911 first among premium sporty cars in their 2025 Initial Quality Study. The RC F isn’t in the top three in its category.

The 911 GT3’s standard 4.0 DOHC 6-cylinder produces 30 more horsepower (502 vs. 472) than the RC F’s 5.0 DOHC V8. The 911 GTS/Spirit 70’s standard 3.6 turbo 6-cylinder hybrid produces 60 more horsepower (532 vs. 472) and 54 lbs.-ft. more torque (449 vs. 395) than the RC F’s 5.0 DOHC V8. The 911 Turbo S’ standard 3.6 turbo 6-cylinder hybrid produces 229 more horsepower (701 vs. 472) and 195 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 395) than the RC F’s 5.0 DOHC V8.

As tested in Car and Driver the Porsche 911 turbo 6 cyl. is faster than the Lexus RC F (automatics tested):

The flat cylinder configuration of the boxer engine in the 911 lowers its center of gravity, enhancing handling stability. The RC F doesn’t offer a boxer engine configuration.

On the EPA test cycle the 911 Coupe gets better mileage than the RC F:

Regenerative brakes improve the 911 GTS/Turbo S’ fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The RC F doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the 911’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The RC F doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The 911’s optional fuel tank has 4.7 gallons more fuel capacity than the RC F (22.1 vs. 17.4 gallons).

The 911 offers a manual transmission for better acceleration, control and fuel economy. The RC F doesn’t offer a manual transmission.

The 911 offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The RC F doesn’t offer an SMG.

All wheel drive, available in the 911, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Lexus RC F is not available with all wheel drive.

For better stopping power the 911 CCB’s brake rotors are larger than those on the RC F:

The 911 offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The RC F doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The 911 stops much shorter than the RC F:

For better traction and acceleration, the 911 has larger standard rear tires than the RC F (295/35R20 vs. 275/35R19). The 911 Turbo S’ rear tires are larger than the largest rear tires available on the RC F (325/30R21 vs. 275/35R19).

The 911’s optional 305/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the RC F’s 35 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the 911 has standard 20-inch rear wheels. Only 19-inch wheels are available on the RC F. The 911 offers optional 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels.

The 911 (except Base/GT3) offers active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The RC F doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The 911 Turbo S offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Lexus doesn’t offer an active suspension on the RC F.

The 911 has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The 911’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The RC F doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the 911 is 1.6 inches wider in the front and .1 inches wider in the rear than the track on the RC F.

The 911 Coupe handles at 1.18 G’s, while the RC F pulls only .92 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The 911 Coupe executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 3 seconds quicker than the RC F (21.9 seconds @ .97 average G’s vs. 24.9 seconds @ .8 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the 911 GT3’s turning circle is 1.3 feet tighter than the RC F’s (34.1 feet vs. 35.4 feet).

The Porsche 911 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 700 pounds less than the Lexus RC F.

The 911 is 6.6 inches shorter than the RC F, making the 911 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

To almost totally eliminate engine vibration in the passenger area, the 911 Manual (except PDK) has an electronically controlled liquid-filled front engine mount. A computer-controlled electric current in the liquid changes its viscosity, allowing the mount to dampen the engine completely at all RPMs. The RC F uses conventional solid rubber engine mounts.

The front grille of the 911 uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The RC F doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The 911 has .1 inches more front headroom, 1.9 inches more front shoulder room and 1.8 inches more rear shoulder room than the RC F.

The 911’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The RC F doesn’t offer folding rear seats, only a ski pass-through.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Porsche service is better than Lexus. J.D. Power ranks Porsche first in service department satisfaction. With a 12% lower rating, Lexus is ranked second.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the 911 (except Cabriolet/GT3) offers an optional rear wiper. The RC F doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the 911 offers optional cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The RC F doesn’t offer cornering lights. The 911 also has standard adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle.

Both the Porsche 911 and Lexus RC F offer exterior mirrors that can be folded to provide convenience. The 911 features standard power folding mirrors, which allow for easy, one-touch folding or unfolding at the driver’s discretion. This provides added convenience when maneuvering or parking, as well as when walking past the parked vehicle. In comparison, the RC F’s foldable mirrors are manual, requiring the driver to get out and physically fold them once parked and unfold them before getting in.

The 911 has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the RC F.

The 911 has a standard center folding armrest for the rear passengers. A center armrest helps make rear passengers more comfortable and it can provide a boundary between children. The RC F Track Edition doesn’t offer a rear seat center armrest.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Porsche 911 has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the front center console. The RC F doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.

The 911 (except Manual/GT3)’s optional Active Parking Support can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Optional Remote ParkAssist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The RC F doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

The Porsche 911 comes in coupe and convertible bodystyles; the Lexus RC F isn’t available as a convertible.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the 911 first among premium sporty cars in owner reported satisfaction. This includes how well the vehicle performs and satisfies its owner’s expectations. The RC F isn’t in the top three.
