Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The 911 (except Manual/GT3) offers an optional Maneuvering Assist that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The LC doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

The 911 offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The LC doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the 911 helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The LC doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the 911 and LC offer rear cross-traffic warning, but the 911 with Rear Cross Traffic Alert also has Rear Cross Traffic Alert (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The LC’s Rear Cross-Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.

The 911 GT3’s standard 4.0 DOHC 6-cylinder produces 31 more horsepower (502 vs. 471) than the LC’s 5.0 DOHC V8. The 911 GTS/Spirit 70’s standard 3.6 turbo 6-cylinder hybrid produces 61 more horsepower (532 vs. 471) and 51 lbs.-ft. more torque (449 vs. 398) than the LC’s 5.0 DOHC V8. The 911 Turbo S’ standard 3.6 turbo 6-cylinder hybrid produces 230 more horsepower (701 vs. 471) and 192 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 398) than the LC’s 5.0 DOHC V8.

The flat cylinder configuration of the boxer engine in the 911 lowers its center of gravity, enhancing handling stability. The LC doesn’t offer a boxer engine configuration.

Regenerative brakes improve the 911 GTS/Turbo S’ fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The LC doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the 911’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The LC doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The 911 offers a manual transmission for better acceleration, control and fuel economy. The LC doesn’t offer a manual transmission.

The 911 offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The LC doesn’t offer an SMG.

All wheel drive, available in the 911, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Lexus LC is not available with all wheel drive.

The 911 PDK’s optional launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The LC doesn’t offer launch control.

For better stopping power the 911 CCB’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the LC:

The 911 offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The LC doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The 911’s standard 235/40R19 front and 295/35R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series front and 35 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the LC’s standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires. The 911’s optional 245/35R20 front and 305/30R21 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the LC’s optional 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

The 911 (except Base/GT3) offers active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The LC doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The 911 Turbo S offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Lexus doesn’t offer an active suspension on the LC.

The 911 has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The 911’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The LC doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

The 911 Coupe handles at 1.18 G’s, while the LC pulls only .88 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The 911 Carrera Cabriolet handles at 1.03 G’s, while the LC 500 Convertible pulls only .92 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The 911 Coupe executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 4.2 seconds quicker than the LC (21.9 seconds @ .97 average G’s vs. 26.1 seconds @ .69 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the 911 GT3’s turning circle is .7 feet tighter than the LC Active Rear Steering’s (34.1 feet vs. 34.8 feet).

The Porsche 911 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 550 to 1100 pounds less than the Lexus LC.

The 911 is 8.6 inches shorter than the LC, making the 911 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

To almost totally eliminate engine vibration in the passenger area, the 911 Manual (except PDK) has an electronically controlled liquid-filled front engine mount. A computer-controlled electric current in the liquid changes its viscosity, allowing the mount to dampen the engine completely at all RPMs. The LC uses conventional solid rubber engine mounts.

The design of the Porsche 911 amounts to more than styling. The 911 offers aerodynamic coefficients of drag from .297 to .31 Cd (depending on bodystyle and options). That is lower than the LC (.33 to .34). A more efficient exterior helps the 911 go faster and keeps the interior quieter. It also helps the 911 get better fuel mileage.

The front grille of the 911 uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The LC doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The 911 Coupe has .7 inches more front headroom, .2 inches more front legroom and .3 inches more rear headroom than the LC.

The 911 Cabriolet has a much larger trunk with its top down than the LC Convertible (4.8 vs. 3.4 cubic feet).

The LC’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The 911’s standard adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

When the 911 is put in reverse, the passenger rearview mirror tilts from its original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirror into its original position. The LC’s mirror doesn’t automatically adjust for backing.

The 911 has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the LC.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Porsche 911 has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the front center console. The LC doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.

The 911 (except Manual/GT3)’s optional Active Parking Support can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Optional Remote ParkAssist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The LC doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

According to iSeeCars.com the 2026 Porsche 911 retains 82.96% of its original value after 5 years, significantly more than the 58.8% resale value of the 2026 Lexus LC after five years, which can save the Porsche’s owner up to $23592 in depreciation.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the 911 first among premium sporty cars in owner reported satisfaction. This includes how well the vehicle performs and satisfies its owner’s expectations. The LC isn’t in the top three in its category.
