Compare the2026 Porsche 911VS 2026 Aston Martin Vantage

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The 911 (except Manual/GT3) offers an optional Maneuvering Assist that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Vantage doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

The 911 offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The Vantage doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the 911 helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The Vantage doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the 911 and the Vantage have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, driver alert monitors, available crash mitigating brakes, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

The 911 comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Vantage’s 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

The 911’s corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the Vantage’s (12 vs. 10 years).

There are almost 6 times as many Porsche dealers as there are Aston Martin dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the 911’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the 911 first among premium sporty cars in their 2025 Initial Quality Study. The Vantage isn’t in the top three in its category.

The 911 Turbo S’ 3.6 turbo 6-cylinder hybrid produces 31 more horsepower (701 vs. 670) than the Vantage S’ optional 4.0 turbo V8.

Motor Trend magazine performs a classic 0 to 100 MPH and back to 0 MPH performance test. The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Coupe completed this feat in only 10 seconds. It took the Aston Martin Vantage Coupe 10.6 seconds.

The flat cylinder configuration of the boxer engine in the 911 lowers its center of gravity, enhancing handling stability. The Vantage doesn’t offer a boxer engine configuration.

Regenerative brakes improve the 911 GTS/Turbo S’ fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Vantage doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the 911’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The Vantage doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The 911’s optional fuel tank has 2.8 gallons more fuel capacity than the Vantage (22.1 vs. 19.3 gallons).

The 911 offers a manual transmission for better acceleration, control and fuel economy. The Vantage doesn’t offer a manual transmission.

The 911 offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The Vantage doesn’t offer an SMG.

All wheel drive, available in the 911, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Aston Martin Vantage is not available with all wheel drive.

The 911 (except Base/GT3) offers active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The Vantage doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The 911 Turbo S offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Aston Martin doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Vantage.

The 911 has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The 911’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Vantage doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

The 911 GT3 handles at 1.17 G’s, while the Vantage Coupe pulls only 1.01 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The 911 Coupe executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1.4 seconds quicker than the Vantage Coupe (21.9 seconds @ .97 average G’s vs. 23.3 seconds @ .94 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the 911 GT3’s turning circle is 5.3 feet tighter than the Vantage’s (34.1 feet vs. 39.4 feet). The 911’s turning circle is 2.7 feet tighter than the Vantage’s (36.7 feet vs. 39.4 feet).

The Porsche 911 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 500 pounds less than the Aston Martin Vantage.

The front grille of the 911 uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Vantage doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

As tested by Car and Driver, the interior of the 911 Carrera GTS Coupe 4 is quieter than the Vantage Coupe:

The 911 has 1.6 inches more front headroom and 7.6 inches more front legroom than the Vantage.

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the 911. The Vantage doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The 911’s front and rear power windows all open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Vantage’s power windows’ switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the 911 (except Cabriolet/GT3) offers an optional rear wiper. The Vantage doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the 911 offers optional cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The Vantage doesn’t offer cornering lights. The 911 also has standard adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle.

The 911’s sun-visors swivel front-to-side to block glare from the side windows. The Vantage’s visors are fixed into the windshield header.

The 911’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Vantage has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The 911 has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Vantage.

The Porsche 911 has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the rear view mirror. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. Aston Martin charges extra for Homelink® on the Vantage.

The 911 (except Manual/GT3)’s optional Active Parking Support can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Optional Remote ParkAssist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Vantage’s automatic parking system requires operating the brakes and transmission to safely park and it doesn’t offer remote control parking.

According to iSeeCars.com the 2026 Porsche 911 retains 82.96% of its original value after 5 years, significantly more than the 61.61% resale value of the 2026 Aston Martin Vantage after five years, which can save the Porsche’s owner up to $52867 in depreciation.

Motor Trend performed a comparison test in its June 2025 issue and the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Coupe won out over the Aston Martin Vantage Coupe.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the 911 first among premium sporty cars in owner reported satisfaction. This includes how well the vehicle performs and satisfies its owner’s expectations. The Vantage isn’t in the top three.
