A passive infrared night vision system optional on the 911 helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The F-Type doesn’t offer a night vision system.

The 911 offers an optional Surround View to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The F-Type only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the 911 and the F-Type have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available all wheel drive, crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems and rear cross-path warning.

The 911’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the F-Type’s (12 vs. 6 years).

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the 911’s reliability 20 points higher than the F-Type.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the 911 second among premium sporty cars in their 2023 Initial Quality Study. The F-Type isn’t in the top three in its category.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2023 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Porsche vehicles are better in initial quality than Jaguar vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Porsche above average in initial quality. With 18 more problems per 100 vehicles, Jaguar is rated lower.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Porsche vehicles are more reliable than Jaguar vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Porsche above average in long-term dependability. With 30 more problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, Jaguar is rated below average.

The 911 Turbo S’ 3.7 turbo 6-cylinder produces 65 more horsepower (640 vs. 575) and 74 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 516) than the F-Type R75’s optional 5.0 supercharged V8.

The flat cylinder configuration of the boxer engine in the 911 lowers its center of gravity, enhancing handling stability. The F-Type doesn’t offer a boxer engine configuration.

The 911’s optional fuel tank has 5.2 gallons more fuel capacity than the F-Type (23.7 vs. 18.5 gallons).

The 911 offers a manual transmission for better acceleration, control and fuel economy. The F-Type doesn’t offer a manual transmission.

The 911 offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The F-Type doesn’t offer an SMG.

For better stopping power the 911 Turbo S’ front brake rotors are larger than those on the F-Type:

The 911 offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The F-Type doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction, the 911 GT3 RS’ optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the F-Type (F:275/30R20 & R:335/30R21 vs. F:265/35R20 & R:305/30R20).

The 911 GT3 RS’ optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the F-Type’s 35 series front tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the 911 offers optional 21-inch rear wheels. The F-Type’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

The 911 (except Base/GT3) offers active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The F-Type doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The 911 GT3 RS handles at 1.18 G’s, while the F-Type Coupe pulls only .96 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The 911 GT3 RS executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.5 seconds quicker than the F-Type R75 Coupe (21.9 seconds @ .97 average G’s vs. 24.4 seconds @ .82 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the 911 GT3’s turning circle is .8 feet tighter than the F-Type’s (34.1 feet vs. 34.9 feet). The 911’s turning circle is .2 feet tighter than the F-Type AWD’s (36.8 feet vs. 37 feet).

The Porsche 911 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 150 to 550 pounds less than the Jaguar F-Type.

The design of the Porsche 911 amounts to more than styling. The 911 offers aerodynamic coefficients of drag from .31 to .33 Cd (depending on bodystyle and options). That is lower than the F-Type (.35 to .36). A more efficient exterior helps the 911 go faster and keeps the interior quieter. It also helps the 911 get better fuel mileage.

The front grille of the 911 uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The F-Type doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The 911 has standard seating for 4 passengers; the F-Type can only carry 2.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Porsche service is better than Jaguar. J.D. Power ranks Porsche third in service department satisfaction. With a 21% lower rating, Jaguar is ranked 10th.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the 911 (except Cabriolet/GT3) offers an optional rear wiper. The F-Type doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The F-Type’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The 911’s optional adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

The 911’s sun-visors swivel front-to-side to block glare from the side windows. The F-Type’s visors are fixed into the windshield header.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the 911 (except Manual) offers an optional Adaptive Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The F-Type doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

With standard Voice Control, the 911 offers the driver hands free control of the radio and the navigation computer by simply speaking. The F-Type doesn’t offer a voice control system.

The 911 (except Manual/GT3)’s optional Active Parking Support can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Garage Pilot will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The F-Type’s automatic parking system requires operating the brakes and transmission to safely park and it doesn’t offer remote control parking.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the 911 first among premium sporty cars in owner reported satisfaction. This includes how well the vehicle performs and satisfies its owner’s expectations. The F-Type isn’t in the top three in its category.
